Isaiah 60:1-6 Ephesians 3:2-3,5-6 Matthew 2:1-12
As we begin this new year we can ask ourselves this Epiphany-themed reflection question: What am I really looking for? Wealth can be nice, but there’s no guarantee that the search for and the attainment of wealth will be peace to your heart, mind and soul. The same can be said for those who seek beauty or power or any kind of earthly value. Earthly things may bring us certain degrees of comfort but, ultimately will not feed our soul. The “three kings” took a big risk in seeking and following the star in order to find the mysterious new-born king. So we ask ourselves: What am I going out of my way for fulfillment?
Many people of good will seek what is good and just. As people of faith we are called to seek the source of goodness, justice, love and holiness: Jesus. Ultimately, only the Lord will satisfy our longings. The Lord is the Light to which we are called. Are you putting your energy into your search for a deeper and more profound life with God?

Al comenzar este nuevo año, podemos hacernos esta pregunta de reflexión con tema de Epifanía: ¿Qué estoy buscando realmente? La riqueza puede ser agradable, pero no hay garantía de que la búsqueda y el logro de la riqueza den paz para su corazón, mente y alma. Lo mismo puede decirse de aquellos que buscan la belleza o el poder o cualquier tipo de valor terrenal. Las cosas terrenales pueden brindarnos cierto grado de comodidad pero, en última instancia, no alimentarán nuestra alma. Los "tres reyes" corrieron un gran riesgo al buscar y seguir a la estrella para encontrar al misterioso rey recién nacido. Entonces nos preguntamos: ¿Qué estoy haciendo fuera de mi camino para la realización? Mucha gente de buena voluntad buscan lo que es bueno y justo. Como personas de fe, estamos llamados a buscar la fuente de la bondad, la justicia, el amor y la santidad: Jesús. En última instancia, solo el Señor satisfará nuestros anhelos. El Señor es la Luz a la que somos llamados. ¿Estás poniendo tu energía en tu búsqueda de una vida más profunda y profunda con Dios?
