Statement from U.S. Bishop  Chairmen

"Racism is not a thing of the past or simply a throwaway political issue to be bandied about when convenient. It is a real and present danger that must be met head on. As members of the Church, we must stand for the more difficult right and just actions instead of the easy wrongs of indifference. We cannot turn a blind eye to these atrocities and yet still try to profess to respect every human life. We serve a God of love, mercy, and justice...

...we call upon all Catholics to pray and work toward a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Let us pray for a su

pernatural desire to rid ourselves of the harm that bias and prejudice cause. We call upon Catholics to pray to the Holy Spirit for the Spirit of Truth to touch the hearts of all in the United States and to come down upon our criminal justice and law enforcement systems. Finally, let each and every Catholic, regardless of their ethnicity, beg God to heal our deeply broken view of each other, as well as our deeply broken society."

PRAYER

Let us pray for a swift end to the coronavirus pandemic

that afflicts our world,

that our God and Creator will heal the sick,

strengthen those who care for them, and help us all to persevere in faith:

Almighty and merciful God,

source of all life, health and healing,

look with compassion on our world, brought low by disease;

protect us in the midst of the grave challenges that assail us

and in your fatherly providence grant recovery to the stricken,

strength to those who care for them,

and success to those working to eradicate this scourge.

Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Oración

Oremos por un final rápido de la pandemia del coronavirus

que afecta a nuestro mundo,

que nuestro Dios y Creador sane a los enfermos,

fortalezca a quienes los cuidan y nos ayude a perseverar en la fe:

Dios todopoderoso y misericordioso,

fuente de vida, salud y sanación,

mira con compasión a nuestro mundo, debilitado por la enfermedad;

COVID-19 and Parish Life Update (24 March)

The Archdiocese announced that churches are to remain closed, including on Sundays, until further notice. You can find out more HERE.

Make holy the Lord’s Day by your prayer at home, following daily/Sunday Mass from the Cathedral online, and/or by using the Family Home Liturgy for Sunday on our parish website.

Make your “sign of peace” a phone call to a friend/neighbor/relative, by sending them a card of encouragement or with a friendly email.

Our parish staff will be in the office every day from 9am to 1pm.  We were instructed not to have meetings or appointments.

“Thank you!” to all those who made donations to the parish this last week.  Your support during this trying times is greatly appreciated. You can prayerfully donate online through: WeShare.

We continue to pray for one another, for those who are in special need of God’s grace and for all healthcare workers and scientists.

La oficina del centro parroquial está abierta cada día de 9am a 1pm.  Hemos recibido instrucciones no tener reuniones o citas.

“¡Gracias!” a todos que generosamente han dado su donación la semana pasada.  Estamos muy agradecidos por su apoyo durante este tiempo difícil. Puede dar su contribucion en linea aqui: WeShare.
