Black Catholic Heritage Month

November is Black Catholic Heritage Month

There are 11 saints associated with the Catholic Church in the United States. None of them are of African descent. But, an initiative by the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University in New Orleans wants to raise the profile of six Black Catholics—women and men who the Church believes have saintly potential.

Words from Pope Francis | Mensaje del Papa Francisco

Ignatian Year May 2021 - July 2022

500 years ago a Basque knight was wounded, hit by a cannonball, in the Battle of Pamplona.  This event initiated an amazing conversion process: soldier Íñigo became St. Ignatius of Loyola.  During this Ignatian Year (“Ignatius 500”, 20 May 2021-31 July 2022) we celebrate his amazing conversion process and reflect on our own ongoing call to conversion, how we need to find God in all things.

Finding God in All Things

The Eucharist

“The Eucharist, although it is the fullness of sacramental life, is not a prize for the perfect but a powerful medicine and nourishment for the weak.”

Pope Francis, Evangelii Gaudium, #47
