Transformed by Resurrection Faith
Acts 4:32-35 1 John 5:1-6 John 20:19-31
In the first reading today we see how the lives of the people of the Early Church were transformed by their faith in the Risen Lord: united in heart and mind, everyone supported each other, the idea of personal possessions was not important. Wow! Our parish churches are not like that today!
Historical circumstances and the sheer number of believers today prevent us from doing that exactly as they did. But, those same values of a people transformed by the Resurrection of Jesus should be the same! We are still called to support and help one another spiritually and materially and create a community made strong by the bond of love. Most parish communities are not there, but if we truly strive to grow as an Easter people, we can definitely grow in our fidelity to our Christian lives.
Even if we sometimes doubt, like Thomas in today’s Gospel, we can struggle and grow together and allow the voice of the Risen Lord to guide us. Alleluia!

Transformado por la fe de la Resurrección
Hechos 4: 32-35 1 Juan 5: 1-6 Juan 20: 19-31
En la primera lectura de hoy vemos cómo las vidas de las personas de la Iglesia primitiva se transformaron por su fe en el Señor resucitado: unidos en el corazón y en la mente, todos se apoyaron mutuamente, la idea de las posesiones personales no era importante. ¡Guauu! ¡Nuestras iglesias parroquiales no son así hoy!
Las circunstancias históricas y el gran número de creyentes hoy nos impiden hacer eso exactamente como lo hicieron. ¡Pero esos mismos valores de un pueblo transformado por la Resurrección de Jesús deberían ser lo mismo! Todavía estamos llamados a apoyarnos y ayudarnos los unos a los otros espiritualmente y materialmente y crear una comunidad fortalecida por el vínculo del amor. La mayoría de las comunidades parroquiales no están allí, pero si realmente nos esforzamos por crecer como un pueblo de Pascua, definitivamente podemos crecer en nuestra fidelidad a nuestras vidas cristianas.
Incluso si a veces dudamos, como Thomas en el Evangelio de hoy, podemos luchar y crecer juntos y permitir que la voz del Señor Resucitado nos guíe. ¡Aleluya!
