REACH OUT AND TOUCH SOMEONE
Wisdom 1:13-15; 2:23-24 2 Corinthians 8:7,9,13-15 Mark 5:21-43     

There is something important to the human touch. Infants need to touched lovingly and cuddled. Sometimes the best medicine is a good hug from a friend or loved one. Those who are in love hold hands. A good handshake shows respect. Hands joined in prayer help to lift the spirit. Even on the soccer fields of the World Cup games you see player give a fallen player a hand to help him up and give each other a rub on the head or a pat on the shoulders. Touching others in a spirit of respect, friendship and love is an important part of human interaction and development.
     Today in the Gospel, Jesus reaches out to take the hand of a little girl who has died. He invites her to stand up, and she does. She is alive. So often we see Jesus not just saying a prayer for healing over someone, but he physically touches them as well.
     Who do you need to reach out to so that they can feel the healing power of the Lord’s loving kindness? Whose spirit can be lifted by your hand of friendship?

ALCANZA Y TOCA A ALGUIEN

Sabiduría 1: 13-15; 2: 23-24 2 Corintios 8: 7,9,13-15 Marcos 5: 21-43

     Hay algo importante del toque humano. Los bebés necesitan ser abrazados y ser tocados amorosamente. A veces, la mejor medicina es un buen abrazo de un amigo o un ser querido. Los que están enamorados se toman de las manos. Un buen apretón de manos muestra respeto. Las manos unidas en oración ayudan a levantar el espíritu. Incluso en los campos de fútbol de los juegos de la Copa Mundial se ve al jugador darle una mano a un jugador caído para ayudarlo a levantarse y darse un masaje en la cabeza o una palmadita en los hombros. Tocar a los demás con un espíritu de respeto, amistad y amor es una parte importante de la interacción y el desarrollo humano.
     Hoy en el Evangelio, Jesús extiende la mano para tomar la mano de una niña que habia fallecido. Él la invita a ponerse de pie, y ella lo hace. Ella está viva. Muy a menudo vemos a Jesús no solo diciendo una oración para sanar a alguien, sino que físicamente también los toca.
     ¿A quién necesitas llegar para que puedan sentir el poder sanador de la bondad amorosa del Señor? ¿De quién es el espíritu que tu mano de amistad puede levantar?
