Repent to be Filled with Love

Jonah 3:1-5, 10                1 Corinthians 7:29-31               Mark 1:14-20

This week the entire Catholic Church is celebrating “The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity January 18-25.”

        Jesus’ proclamation in today’s gospel; “Repent and believe in the Gospel” is like that of the prophet Jonah in the first reading where he calls upon the Ninevites to repent.

Jonah used well his prophetic ministry to tell the Ninevites to repent or else God would destroy Nineveh. Jonah witnessed 100% conversion of the Ninevites and God himself repented the evil he would have brought on them.

We too at Baptism share in Christ’s prophetic, Kingly and priesthood ministries. We need to Repent and call others to Repentance so that our actions are filled with LOVE, forgiveness, and prayer as we wait for the Lord.

Simon, Andrew, James and John all apostles trusted in Jesus, followed him and preached Repentance.

Arrepentimiento para Llenarte de Amor

Jonás 3: 1-5, 10 1 Corintios 7: 29-31 Marcos 1: 14-20

Esta semana la Iglesia Católica entera  celebrando “La Semana de Oración por la Unidad Cristiana.”

        La proclamación de Jesús en el evangelio de hoy; "Arrepiéntanse y crean en el Evangelio" es como la del profeta Jonás en la primera lectura, donde hace un llamado a los ninivitas para que se arrepientan.

        Jonás usó bien su ministerio profético para decirles a los ninivitas que se arrepientan o de lo contrario Dios destruiría a Nínive. Jonás presenció al 100% la conversión de los ninivitas y Dios mismo se arrepintió del mal que él habría traído sobre ellos.

Nosotros también en el Bautismo compartimos los ministerios proféticos, Royales y del sacerdocio de Cristo. Necesitamos arrepentirnos y llamar a otros al arrepentimiento para que nuestras acciones estén llenas de AMOR, perdón y oración mientras esperamos al Señor.

Simón, Andrés, Santiago, Juan, y todos los apóstoles confiaron en Jesús, lo siguieron y predicaron el arrepentimiento.
