Viewing pornography can put children in greater danger of abuse
In a recent report on the role technology plays in sex trafficking, researchers discovered that the internet facilitated prostitution through online ads in 75% of cases. The average age of entry was 15. Pornography is a growing problem in our society, and it contributes a great deal to the real problems of sexual exploitation and trafficking that are happening closer to home than we may think. Pornography portrays sex as violent and degrading, particularly to women. Viewing these images can make children more vulnerable to sexual abuse, since they can have a distorted view of what is appropriate and what’s not.
