Part of the “Protecting God’s Children” training program is designed to control who has access to children and ensure that those who do undergo rigorous screening measures. It’s important for all adults to understand what this means and how this process works. Adults who are being screened have not been identified as potential predators. Rather, all employees and volunteers are screened carefully because such screenings constitute an important preventive protective step in establishing a safe environment in the parish. Screening gives confidence to parents, children, and those working with them that all are committed to the protection of children and youth in our Church.
