DID YOU KNOW?
Know the dangers of hot cars and how to keep children safe
This time of year, we read horrible stories in the news about children being left in hot cars. This tragedy can happen to anyone, so it’s important to take steps to minimize risks. Don’t leave your children in the car, even for a few minutes, when temperatures are high. Even with the windows down, it can get hot inside fast, and small children may be unable to open doors to get out. Don’t let your children play in the car. They could easily shut themselves in a hot vehicle without you noticing. Store your purse, wallet, or cell phone in the backseat, next to your child’s car seat. You’ll reach for those things on your way out, reminding you of a sleeping or quiet child in the backseat.
